Ingredients
- Tequila (blanco or reposado) – 2 ounces
- Cranberry juice – 1 ounce
- Fresh lime juice – 1 ounce
- Orange liqueur (Cointreau or Grand Marnier) – 0.75 ounce
- Cinnamon simple syrup – 0.5 ounce
- Allspice dram liqueur – 0.25 ounce
- Ice – as needed
- Cinnamon sugar for rim (optional) – 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Step 1: If desired, prepare the cinnamon sugar rim by combining cinnamon and sugar on a small plate. Wet the rim of a margarita glass with a lime wedge and dip it into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Step 2: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Step 3: Add tequila, cranberry juice, lime juice, orange liqueur, cinnamon simple syrup, and allspice dram to the shaker.
- Step 4: Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds, until well-chilled.
- Step 5: Strain the margarita into the prepared margarita glass filled with fresh ice.
- Step 6: Garnish with a lime wedge or cranberries. Enjoy responsibly!
Notes
- If making ahead, skip the ice and store the margarita mix in the fridge for up to 24 hours; shake vigorously with ice just before serving.
- Reheating isn't recommended, but if your margarita sits out too long, simply add more ice to revive its chill.
- For a festive touch, garnish with sugared cranberries on a cocktail skewer instead of just a lime wedge.
- Adjust the cinnamon simple syrup to your sweetness preference, as cranberry juice tartness can vary.
