Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh pineapple, diced
- 2–3 habanero peppers, stems removed (adjust for heat preference)
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: In a blender, combine the diced pineapple and habanero peppers. Blend until smooth.
- Step 2: Add the white vinegar, lime juice, honey (or agave syrup), salt, garlic powder, and black pepper to the blender. Blend again until all ingredients are well combined and the sauce is smooth.
- Step 3: Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed, adding more honey for sweetness or more habanero for heat if desired.
- Step 4: Pour the hot sauce into a sterilized glass jar or bottle using a funnel to avoid spills.
- Step 5: Seal the jar or bottle tightly and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before using to allow the flavors to meld together. Enjoy your homemade pineapple habanero hot sauce!
Notes
- For optimal freshness, store your Pineapple Habanero Hot Sauce in a tightly sealed glass jar in the refrigerator, where it can last for up to a month.
- When reheating, simply warm a small amount of the sauce on the stove over low heat, stirring gently to maintain its smooth consistency and vibrant flavor.
- This hot sauce pairs beautifully with grilled meats, tacos, or as a zesty addition to marinades, adding a tropical kick to any dish.
- For an extra layer of flavor, consider roasting the habanero peppers before blending; this will enhance their smokiness and create a deeper taste profile in your sauce.
