Delicious philly steak & cheese fries recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Frozen French Fries: 2 lbs
  • Ribeye Steak, thinly sliced: 1 lb
  • Yellow Onion, sliced: 1 medium
  • Green Bell Pepper, sliced: 1 medium
  • Provolone Cheese, sliced: 8 oz
  • Oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread frozen fries on a baking sheet and bake according to package directions until golden brown and crispy. Season lightly with salt.
  2. Step 2: While fries are baking, heat oil in a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers and cook until softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Remove vegetables from skillet and set aside.
  3. Step 3: Add the thinly sliced steak to the same skillet. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Step 4: Combine the cooked steak with the onions and bell peppers in the skillet. Mix well.
  5. Step 5: Once the fries are cooked, transfer them to a serving platter or individual plates. Top the fries with the steak and vegetable mixture.
  6. Step 6: Arrange the provolone cheese slices over the steak and vegetables. Place the platter back into the oven for a minute or two, or use a kitchen torch, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Store leftover steak and veggie mixture separately in the fridge for up to 3 days to prevent soggy fries.
  • Reheat the steak and veggie mix in a skillet, then broil briefly on top of freshly made fries for best results.
  • Serve these loaded fries immediately as a crowd-pleasing appetizer or a fun, casual dinner.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the steak while it's cooking.
