Ingredients
- Ground turkey: 1 pound
- Turkey bacon: 8 slices
- Lasagna noodles: 9 oven-ready noodles
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Marinara sauce: 24 ounces
- Ricotta cheese: 15 ounces
- Shredded mozzarella cheese: 2 cups
- Grated Parmesan cheese: 1/2 cup
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook ground turkey in a large skillet over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain any excess grease. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Step 2: Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes. Cook turkey bacon until crispy, then crumble.
- Step 3: In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese and 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese.
- Step 4: Spread a thin layer of the turkey-marinara sauce mixture in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Arrange 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then sprinkle with half of the crumbled turkey bacon and 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese.
- Step 5: Repeat layers: sauce, 3 noodles, remaining ricotta mixture, remaining turkey bacon, and 1/2 cup mozzarella. Top with the final 3 noodles and remaining sauce. Sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese.
- Step 6: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly and lasagna is heated through. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For easier slicing, let the lasagna cool completely before refrigerating leftovers in an airtight container.
- Reheat individual portions in the microwave or bake covered in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through.
- Garnish each serving with a sprinkle of fresh basil or parsley for added flavor and visual appeal.
- To prevent sticking, lightly spray the baking dish with cooking spray before assembling the lasagna.
