Ingredients
Scale
- 2.5 lbs Chicken Wings, separated into drumettes and flats
- 1/2 cup Fresh Lime Juice (about 4–6 limes)
- 1/4 cup Lime Zest (from about 4–6 limes)
- 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Honey
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, whisk together the lime juice, lime zest, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, olive oil, and chili powder. This creates the marinade.
- Step 2: Add the chicken wings to the bowl with the marinade. Toss thoroughly to coat all the wings evenly, ensuring the marinade gets into all crevices.
- Step 3: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight for the best flavor.
- Step 4: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
- Step 5: Arrange the marinated wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
- Step 6: Bake for 30-40 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until they are cooked through and the skin is crispy and golden brown. Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
Notes
- For best results, marinate the wings overnight – the longer they soak, the more intensely lime-y they become.
- Store leftover wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat leftover wings in an air fryer for a few minutes to restore crispness, or gently in the oven.
- Serve these zesty wings with a cool cilantro-lime dipping sauce or a side of creamy avocado for a balanced flavor profile.
