Ingredients
Scale
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the melted butter into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Step 3: Gradually add the milk to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Step 4: Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish.
- Step 5: Arrange the sliced bananas evenly over the batter, then sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Step 6: Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the cobbler is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Store leftover cobbler in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, covering tightly to prevent it from drying out.
- Reheat individual servings in the microwave for 30-60 seconds or until warmed through, adding a splash of milk if needed to rehydrate.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra-special treat.
- For a richer flavor, lightly brown the melted butter in a saucepan before pouring it into the baking dish, being careful not to burn it.
