Delicious irresistible honey brown sugar chicken ham glaze for your holiday feast recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Bone-in, fully cooked ham: 8-10 pounds
  • Honey: 1/2 cup
  • Brown sugar: 1/2 cup, packed
  • Dijon mustard: 2 tablespoons
  • Apple cider vinegar: 1 tablespoon
  • Ground cloves: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Pineapple juice: 1/4 cup
  • Orange zest: 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Place ham in a large roasting pan and score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep.
  2. Step 2: In a saucepan, combine honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, pineapple juice, ground cloves, and orange zest.
  3. Step 3: Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the brown sugar is dissolved and the glaze is smooth. Bring to a simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the glaze to thicken slightly.
  4. Step 4: Pour half of the glaze over the ham, making sure to get into the scored areas.
  5. Step 5: Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes per pound, basting with the remaining glaze every 20-30 minutes.
  6. Step 6: Once the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C), remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before carving and serving.

Notes

  • Store leftover glaze in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week; it's fantastic on grilled chicken or pork chops too!
  • To reheat sliced ham, gently warm in a covered dish with a little pineapple juice to keep it moist and flavorful.
  • Serve the glazed ham with roasted root vegetables and a bright, citrusy salad to balance the sweetness.
  • For an extra depth of flavor, lightly toast the ground cloves in a dry pan for a minute before adding them to the glaze.
