Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
Instructions
- Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard until well combined.
- Step 2: Add the minced garlic, oregano, and basil to the bowl. Stir until the herbs are evenly distributed throughout the marinade.
- Step 3: Add your chicken pieces (breast, thighs, etc.) to a resealable bag or shallow dish.
- Step 4: Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or preferably 2-4 hours for maximum flavor. For best results, marinate overnight.
- Step 5: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Step 6: Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Notes
- Store leftover marinade in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, but never reuse it on cooked chicken.
- Reheat leftover grilled chicken gently in a skillet or microwave to maintain its juicy texture.
- Serve your grilled chicken on a bed of fresh greens with a vibrant summer salad for a light yet satisfying meal.
- For extra flavor depth, let your chicken marinate for at least overnight; the longer it soaks, the more intensely delicious it becomes.
