Ingredients
Scale
- 4 slices Thick-cut white bread (or Texas toast)
- 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter (softened)
- 2 cloves Fresh garlic (minced)
- 4 slices Provolone cheese (or Mozzarella)
- 1 tablespoon Grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
Instructions
- Step 1: In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped fresh parsley, and kosher salt. Mix thoroughly until a smooth garlic butter paste is formed.
- Step 2: Assemble the sandwiches by placing two slices of cheese between two slices of bread. Set the sandwiches aside, ensuring the four exterior sides are facing out.
- Step 3: Generously spread the garlic butter mixture onto the four exterior sides of the sandwiches (the sides that will touch the pan). Ensure the mixture is evenly distributed across the surface of the bread.
- Step 4: Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat. Place the sandwiches onto the hot skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy.
- Step 5: Gently press down on the sandwiches with a spatula as they cook to ensure maximum melting and browning. Once the cheese is fully melted and the garlic bread crust is golden, remove from the pan, slice in half, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Any leftover garlic butter mixture can be tightly covered and refrigerated for up to a week, making your next batch even faster to assemble.
- Skip the microwave! To restore the crust’s perfect crunch, reheat your sandwich in an air fryer or toaster oven at 300°F until the cheese is gooey again.
- For the ultimate dipping experience, pair this savory sandwich with a small bowl of quality warm marinara sauce—it enhances the garlic bread flavor beautifully.
- To prevent the fresh minced garlic from scorching, always cook over medium-low heat and ensure the garlic butter layer is spread thinly and evenly across the bread.
