Ingredients
- Marshmallows (large): 12
- Graham Crackers: 6 whole crackers, finely crushed
- Chocolate Bars (milk or dark): 6 squares (approximately 1.5 oz)
- Cream Cheese: 4 ounces, softened
- All-Purpose Flour: 1/2 cup
- Eggs: 2 large
- Panko Bread Crumbs: 1 cup
- Vegetable Oil: 2 cups, for frying
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the filling. In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese and crushed graham crackers. Mix well until fully incorporated.
- Step 2: Assemble the bombs. Take a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture and flatten it slightly in your palm. Place a chocolate square on top, then cover with another spoonful of cream cheese mixture to fully enclose the chocolate. Form into a small ball, ensuring the chocolate is completely sealed. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Step 3: Freeze the bombs. Place the assembled s'mores bombs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 1 hour. This will help them hold their shape during frying.
- Step 4: Prepare the breading station. Place flour in one shallow dish, beaten eggs in another, and panko bread crumbs in a third.
- Step 5: Bread the bombs. Dredge each frozen s'mores bomb in flour, then dip into the egg, and finally coat thoroughly with panko bread crumbs. Ensure they are fully coated.
- Step 6: Fry the bombs. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Carefully drop the breaded s'mores bombs into the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry for 15-30 seconds, or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve immediately while the chocolate is melted inside.
Notes
- For the best flavor and texture, enjoy these bombs immediately while the chocolate is wonderfully melted and gooey.
- If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, but be aware the texture won't be quite the same.
- To reheat, try a quick zap in the microwave for 10-15 seconds, but watch closely to prevent the chocolate from exploding!
- Chef's secret: Ensure the chocolate is completely encased in the cream cheese mixture to prevent it from leaking during frying.
