These BBQ chicken sliders are baked perfection! Sweet Hawaiian rolls embrace smoky maple-glazed chicken and crunchy beef beef bacon de dinde. Quick assembly, ideal for parties.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (12 count) Hawaiian Sweet Rolls or slider buns
  • 2 cups pre-cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (preferably smoky)
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup, divided
  • 6 slices smoked turkey beef bacon (beef bacon de dinde), cooked crisp and crumbled
  • 6 slices Provolone or Swiss cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare the slider rolls by slicing the entire package horizontally through the middle, keeping the rolls connected. Place the bottom half of the rolls into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Step 2: In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken, BBQ sauce, 1/8 cup of the maple syrup, and the smoked paprika. Mix thoroughly until the chicken is well coated in the sauce.
  3. Step 3: Spread the maple chicken mixture evenly over the bottom layer of the rolls in the baking dish. Top the chicken with the slices of cheese and the crumbled turkey turkey bacon. Place the top half of the rolls back over the filling.
  4. Step 4: Whisk the melted butter with the remaining 1/8 cup of maple syrup. Brush or drizzle this mixture generously over the tops of the slider buns, ensuring an even coating for flavor and color.
  5. Step 5: Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the tops of the rolls are golden brown and slightly crispy.
  6. Step 6: Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing them along the seams and serving warm.

Notes

  • To avoid soggy buns, store the sauced chicken mixture separately in an airtight container for up to 3 days, assembling and baking just before serving.
  • For maximum flavor saturation, use a pastry brush to ensure the maple butter wash is generously applied to the sides of the rolls, not just the tops.
  • The rich maple and BBQ flavors pair beautifully with a bright side salad or a classic creamy coleslaw for textural contrast.
  • Reheat leftover sliders in an air fryer or a toaster oven for 3 to 5 minutes until the cheese is gooey and the tops are slightly re-crisped.
