Ingredients
- Ground beef: 1 pound
- Shredded iceberg lettuce: 1 head
- Cheddar cheese, shredded: 1 cup
- Dill pickle, chopped: 1/2 cup
- Red onion, diced: 1/4 cup
- Sesame seeds: 1 tablespoon
- Thousand Island dressing: 1 cup
- Bacon, cooked and crumbled: 4 slices
Instructions
- Step 1: Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess grease and set aside to cool slightly.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the shredded lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped dill pickle, and diced red onion.
- Step 3: Add the cooled ground beef to the salad mixture and toss gently to combine.
- Step 4: Pour the Thousand Island dressing over the salad and toss well to coat all ingredients.
- Step 5: Sprinkle the crumbled bacon and sesame seeds over the top of the salad.
- Step 6: Serve immediately or chill for later.
Notes
- To prevent sogginess, store the undressed salad and dressing separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator.
- This salad is best served cold, but if you prefer a slightly warmer beef, microwave it separately for 30 seconds before adding to the salad.
- For an extra layer of flavor, serve with some crispy french fries on the side to mimic the Big Mac experience!
- Don't overcrowd the skillet when browning the beef; cook it in batches for a better sear and richer flavor.
