Ingredients
- Beef sirloin, thinly sliced: 1 pound
- Soy sauce: 1/4 cup
- Cornstarch: 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar: 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil: 2 tablespoons
- Broccoli florets: 2 cups
- Red bell pepper, sliced: 1 medium
- Garlic, minced: 2 cloves
Instructions
- Step 1: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, cornstarch, and brown sugar. Mix well and set aside.
- Step 2: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add beef and stir-fry until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
- Step 3: Add remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet. Add broccoli florets and bell pepper slices. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until slightly tender.
- Step 4: Add minced garlic and stir-fry for another minute until fragrant.
- Step 5: Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables.
- Step 6: Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat stir fry in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of water or broth if needed to loosen the sauce.
- Serve your stir fry over fluffy rice, quinoa, or noodles for a complete and satisfying meal.
- For extra tender beef, marinate it in the soy sauce mixture for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
