Unleash Dragon Sauce! A vibrant blend of sweet honey, tangy vinegar, fiery Sriracha, and aromatic ginger-garlic. Simple simmer unlocks explosive flavor. Full instructions & nutrition facts included.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) honey
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) Sriracha sauce (adjust to taste for heat)
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) freshly grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon (8g) cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons (30ml) cold water

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a medium saucepan, combine the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, Sriracha sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sesame oil. Whisk all ingredients together until well combined.
  2. Step 2: Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  3. Step 3: While the sauce is simmering, prepare the cornstarch slurry by thoroughly whisking the cornstarch into 2 tablespoons of cold water until no lumps remain.
  4. Step 4: Slowly pour the cornstarch slurry into the simmering sauce, whisking continuously to prevent lumps from forming.
  5. Step 5: Continue to simmer and whisk for another 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency. Remove from heat and serve warm, or allow it to cool and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • This fiery sauce keeps beautifully in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, ready to unleash flavor whenever you need it!
  • When you're ready for another round, gently reheat the sauce over low heat on the stovetop, whisking occasionally, or microwave in short bursts, adding a tiny splash of water if it seems a little too thick.
  • This versatile Dragon Sauce isn't just for stir-fries; try it drizzled over grilled salmon, tossed with roasted vegetables, or as an unforgettable dipping sauce for potstickers and spring rolls.
  • For a truly personalized kick, taste your sauce before fully committing to the Sriracha; you can always add more heat drop by drop to perfectly match your desired level of fiery dragon breath!
