Delicious delicious baked churro bites (crowd-pleasing recipe) recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Water: 1 cup
  • Unsalted Butter: 6 tablespoons
  • Granulated Sugar: 1/4 cup
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • All-Purpose Flour: 1 cup
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Vegetable Oil Spray: as needed
  • Ground Cinnamon: 2 tablespoons
  • Granulated Sugar: 1/2 cup (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil spray.
  2. Step 2: In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until butter is melted.
  3. Step 3: Remove from heat and immediately add the flour. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until a smooth dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  4. Step 4: Let the dough cool for a few minutes. Then, beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.
  5. Step 5: Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe small mounds (about 1 inch in diameter) onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Step 6: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. While the churro bites are baking, combine the cinnamon and sugar in a shallow dish. Once the churro bites are baked, immediately toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat evenly. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Store leftover churro bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, but they're best enjoyed fresh!
  • For a warm, crispy treat the next day, reheat the churro bites in a 350°F (175°C) oven for a few minutes.
  • Serve these delicious bites with a rich chocolate dipping sauce or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat.
  • Make sure the dough has cooled slightly before adding the eggs to prevent them from scrambling!
