Savor the crunch of Crispy Honey Mustard Tofu Tenders That Everyone Will Adore! Coated in a sweet and tangy glaze, these tenders are oven-baked to perfection.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 oz firm tofu, pressed and cut into strips
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crunch)
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup for a vegan option
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, honey (or agave), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Step 3: Place the flour in a shallow dish, the honey mustard mixture in another shallow dish, and the breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.
  4. Step 4: Dip each tofu strip first into the flour, shaking off any excess, then into the honey mustard mixture, and finally coat it thoroughly with the breadcrumbs. Place the coated tofu tenders on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Step 5: Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the tenders are golden brown and crispy. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce!

Notes

  • For optimal storage, keep any leftover crispy tofu tenders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, but be aware that they may lose some crunch over time. When reheating, place the tenders in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes to help restore their crispiness, rather than using a microwave which can make them soggy. Serve these delicious tenders with a side of fresh veggies or a vibrant salad for a complete meal, and don’t forget to offer a variety of dipping sauces like ranch or sriracha for extra flavor! For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs as specified, and consider adding your favorite spices or herbs to the breadcrumb coating for a personalized twist on flavor.
