Ingredients
- Salmon fillets: 2 (6-ounce)
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Honey: 3 tablespoons
- Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons
- Rice vinegar: 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
- Red pepper flakes: 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
- Sesame seeds: 1 teaspoon (for garnish)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a small bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, olive oil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Step 3: Place the salmon fillets skin-side down (if applicable) on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the honey garlic glaze generously over the top of each fillet.
- Step 4: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
- Step 5: Broil for the last 1-2 minutes to caramelize the glaze and make the salmon extra crispy (watch carefully to avoid burning).
- Step 6: Garnish with sesame seeds before serving. Serve immediately over rice or with your favorite sides.
Notes
- Store leftover salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- For best results when reheating, gently warm the salmon in a skillet over low heat with a splash of water to retain moisture.
- Serve this glazed salmon atop a bed of quinoa with steamed broccoli for a complete and healthy meal.
- Don't overcrowd the baking sheet; give the salmon fillets space so they can properly caramelize and get that delicious crispy edge.
