Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 1 cup
- Unsweetened cocoa powder: ½ cup
- Granulated sugar: 1 cup
- Brown sugar: ½ cup packed
- Unsalted butter: ½ cup, melted
- Eggs: 2 large
- Cream cheese: 8 ounces, softened
- Chocolate chips: ½ cup
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add the melted butter and eggs. Mix until well combined. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
- Step 3: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the cream cheese and fold until evenly dispersed. Drop spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter in the pan.
- Step 4: Drop spoonfuls of the remaining brownie batter over the cream cheese layer. Swirl gently with a knife or skewer to create a marbled effect.
- Step 5: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Step 6: Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
- Store leftover bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days to keep them fresh and fudgy.
- For a warm and gooey treat, microwave a bar for 10-15 seconds before enjoying.
- Serve these decadent bars slightly chilled for a perfect balance of textures and flavors.
- Don't over-bake; slightly moist crumbs on the toothpick are key to a fudgy brownie texture, so start checking for doneness around 25 minutes.
