Ingredients
- Green beans: 1 pound
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons
- Oyster sauce: 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil: 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil: 2 tablespoons
- Ginger: 1 teaspoon, minced
- Cornstarch: 1 teaspoon (mixed with 1 tablespoon water)
Instructions
- Step 1: Wash and trim the green beans, removing the ends. Cut them in half or leave them whole, depending on your preference.
- Step 2: Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat until shimmering. Add the green beans and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, until they are bright green and slightly blistered.
- Step 3: Add the minced garlic and ginger to the wok and stir-fry for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Step 4: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Pour this sauce over the green beans.
- Step 5: Stir in the cornstarch slurry (cornstarch mixed with water) and cook for another minute, until the sauce thickens and coats the green beans evenly.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- To reheat, stir-fry briefly in a hot pan or microwave with a splash of water to prevent drying.
- Serve these garlicky green beans as a vibrant side dish alongside grilled chicken or tofu for a complete meal.
- For an extra layer of flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic and ginger to give it a spicy kick.
