Delicious chinese beef and broccoli recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin, thinly sliced: 1 pound
  • Broccoli florets: 4 cups
  • Soy sauce: 1/4 cup
  • Oyster sauce: 2 tablespoons
  • Cornstarch: 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic, minced: 2 cloves
  • Ginger, minced: 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil: 3 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a bowl, marinate the beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Step 2: Blanch the broccoli florets in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. Step 3: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Stir-fry the beef until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Step 4: Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil to the skillet. Add the minced garlic and ginger and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Step 5: In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch with 1/2 cup of water. Pour this sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until thickened.
  6. Step 6: Return the beef to the skillet and add the blanched broccoli. Toss everything together to coat with the sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until heated through. Serve immediately over rice.

Notes

  • For best flavor, store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To reheat, add a splash of water or broth to the beef and broccoli before microwaving to prevent it from drying out.
  • Serve over fluffy steamed rice or alongside noodles for a complete and satisfying meal.
  • Chef's tip: Quickly stir-frying the beef over high heat ensures it stays tender and doesn't become tough.
