Ingredients
- Beef sirloin, thinly sliced: 1 pound
- Broccoli florets: 4 cups
- Soy sauce: 1/4 cup
- Cornstarch: 2 tablespoons
- Brown sugar: 2 tablespoons
- Garlic, minced: 2 cloves
- Ginger, minced: 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil: 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Step 1: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, cornstarch, and brown sugar. Set aside.
- Step 2: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add beef and stir-fry until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
- Step 3: Add remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, until slightly tender-crisp.
- Step 4: Add minced garlic and ginger to the broccoli and stir-fry for another minute until fragrant.
- Step 5: Pour the soy sauce mixture over the broccoli and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
- Step 6: Return the beef to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Cook for another minute until heated through. Serve immediately over rice.

- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of water if needed, to prevent drying.
- Serve over steamed jasmine rice for a classic and comforting meal.
- For extra tender beef, marinate the sliced sirloin in a little soy sauce and cornstarch for 15 minutes before stir-frying.
