Delicious cherry amaretto tiramisu recipe: a fruity twist recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces ladyfingers
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/4 cup Amaretto liqueur
  • 16 ounces mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, separated
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can cherry pie filling, drained
  • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate shavings (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and Amaretto liqueur. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are moistened but not soggy.
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks until pale and thick. Gradually add the egg yolks to the mascarpone mixture, beating until well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Step 3: In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the mascarpone mixture until just combined.
  4. Step 4: Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture evenly over the ladyfingers. Top with half of the drained cherry pie filling. Repeat layers with remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and cherry pie filling.
  5. Step 5: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the tiramisu to set.
  6. Step 6: Before serving, garnish with semisweet chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • For best flavor, allow your Cherry Amaretto Tiramisu to chill in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, or even better, overnight.
  • To refresh slightly if needed, let it sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before serving; avoid reheating.
  • Serve this delightful dessert chilled, perhaps with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of extra amaretto for an extra special touch.
  • To prevent overly soggy ladyfingers, dip them quickly and only once into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are simply moistened, not drenched.
