Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded
- 1/4 cup Ranch dressing
- 4 sandwich rolls (such as ciabatta or hoagie rolls), sliced lengthwise
- 8 slices sharp Cheddar cheese
- 8 slices deli-style turkey breast
- 4 strips turkey beef bacon
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- Step 1: Cook the turkey turkey bacon in a skillet until crisp. Drain on paper towels and set aside. In a separate medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken breast with the Ranch dressing until evenly coated.
- Step 2: Preheat the same skillet or a griddle over medium heat. Spread the softened butter evenly on the outer surfaces of the sandwich roll halves. Place the bottom halves of the rolls butter-side down on the hot surface and toast for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
- Step 3: Flip the bottom roll halves. On each bottom half, arrange two slices of deli turkey breast. Top the turkey with one quarter of the Ranch chicken mixture, followed by one strip of cooked, crispy turkey turkey bacon.
- Step 4: Place two slices of sharp Cheddar cheese over the layered ingredients on each sandwich half. Cover the skillet with a lid or place the open sandwiches under a preheated broiler until the cheese is fully melted and begins to bubble, about 1-2 minutes.
- Step 5: Carefully remove the melts from the heat. Place the top roll halves onto the melted cheese mixture to complete the sandwich and serve immediately.
Notes
- Store the Ranch chicken mixture separately from the rolls and toppings for up to 3 days in the refrigerator; assemble and melt right before serving to prevent soggy bread.
- To reheat a finished melt, avoid the microwave and use a toaster oven or air fryer set to 300°F (150°C) for 5-7 minutes; this method revitalizes the crispness of the roll.
- Balance the richness of the melt with a simple side, like crunchy dill pickle spears and a light, peppery arugula salad dressed with a lemon vinaigrette.
- For a professional touch on the crust, consider mixing a small pinch of garlic powder into the softened butter before spreading it on the rolls for an added savory layer while toasting.
