Delicious cajun steak tips in cheesy rigatoni parmesan sauce recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Sirloin Steak Tips: 1.5 lbs
  • Rigatoni Pasta: 1 lb
  • Heavy Cream: 1.5 cups
  • Parmesan Cheese: 1 cup, grated
  • Cajun Seasoning: 2 tablespoons
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Yellow Onion: 1 medium, chopped
  • Garlic: 4 cloves, minced

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare the steak. Cut steak tips into 1-inch pieces and season generously with Cajun seasoning. Let sit for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Step 2: Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water.
  3. Step 3: While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak tips and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through to desired doneness (about 5-7 minutes). Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
  4. Step 4: In the same skillet, add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  5. Step 5: Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. If sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to thin it out.
  6. Step 6: Add the cooked rigatoni and steak tips to the cheesy sauce. Toss to coat. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best flavor, store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of milk or cream to keep the sauce creamy.
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley or chopped green onions for a pop of color and fresh flavor.
  • Don't overcrowd the skillet when searing the steak tips; cook in batches to ensure even browning and prevent steaming.
