Ingredients
- Mushrooms, sliced: 1 pound
- Butter: 4 tablespoons
- Worcestershire sauce: 2 tablespoons
- Garlic, minced: 2 cloves
- Fresh parsley, chopped: 2 tablespoons
- Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
- Black pepper: 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Step 2: Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until they release their moisture and begin to brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Step 3: Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Step 4: Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly and coat the mushrooms.
- Step 5: Remove from heat and stir in the fresh parsley.
Notes
- Store leftover mushrooms in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For best results, gently reheat the mushrooms in a skillet over medium-low heat, adding a splash of broth or water if needed to prevent sticking.
- Serve these savory mushrooms as a delicious side dish with steak, chicken, or even on top of toast for a quick appetizer.
- Don't overcrowd the pan – cook the mushrooms in batches if necessary to ensure they brown properly and don't steam.
