Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 1 cup
- Unsweetened cocoa powder: 1/2 cup
- Granulated sugar: 1 cup
- Brown sugar: 1/2 cup
- Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
- Eggs: 2 large
- Unsalted butter, melted: 1/2 cup
- Cream cheese, softened: 4 ounces
- Blackberries: 1 cup
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt. Stir in melted butter and eggs until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Step 3: In a separate bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Gently fold in half of the blackberries.
- Step 4: Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Dollop the cream cheese mixture evenly over the brownie batter, then top with the remaining brownie batter.
- Step 5: Sprinkle the remaining blackberries on top of the brownie batter.
- Step 6: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool completely before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
- Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- For a warm, gooey treat, microwave individual brownie squares for 10-15 seconds.
- Serve these decadent brownies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce for an extra special dessert.
- Chef's tip: To prevent the blackberries from sinking, lightly toss them in flour before adding them to the batter.
