Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 pint blueberries
- 1 orange, peeled and segmented
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- 2 tablespoons honey or agave nectar (optional, adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Step 1: Gently wash all the fruits and thoroughly dry them with a clean kitchen towel. This prevents excess water from diluting the flavors.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, blueberries, orange segments, and pomegranate seeds.
- Step 3: In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice and honey (or agave) if using. Taste and adjust sweetness as needed.
- Step 4: Pour the lime juice mixture over the fruit mixture. Gently toss to coat all the fruits evenly.
- Step 5: Stir in the chopped mint and nuts (if using).
- Step 6: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled.
Notes
- For best flavor, chill the fruit salad for at least 2 hours before serving, allowing the juices to fully mingle.
- This salad is best served cold; reheating is not recommended as it can make the fruit mushy.
- Serve this decadent fruit salad in individual glasses or small bowls for an elegant presentation.
- To enhance the citrus notes, zest half of the lime before juicing and add it to the salad for an extra layer of flavor.
