Ingredients
Scale
- 1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into 1-inch chunks
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Step 2: In a medium bowl, combine the pineapple chunks, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss gently to ensure the pineapple is evenly coated. Add honey if desired.
- Step 3: Place the seasoned pineapple in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Step 4: Air fry for 10-15 minutes, or until the pineapple is tender and caramelized, flipping halfway through the cooking time for even browning.
- Step 5: Carefully remove the caramelized pineapple from the air fryer and let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
- Store leftover caramelized pineapple in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- To reheat, pop the pineapple back into the air fryer for a few minutes until warmed through, or microwave in short bursts.
- Serve this air-fried pineapple warm as a topping for yogurt, ice cream, or even grilled chicken for a sweet and savory twist.
- For extra flavor, try using dark brown sugar; its molasses notes will deepen the caramelization beautifully.
