Ingredients
Scale
- 6 Babybel cheese rounds
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- Step 1: Begin by unwrapping the Babybel cheese rounds and placing them on a plate. This will allow them to come to room temperature while you prepare the breading station.
- Step 2: Set up your breading station by placing the flour in a shallow bowl, whisking the eggs in another shallow bowl, and combining the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a third shallow bowl.
- Step 3: Dip each Babybel cheese round first into the flour, coating it evenly. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess egg to drip off before moving it to the breadcrumb mixture.
- Step 4: Coat each cheese round thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well. Repeat this process until all cheese rounds are coated.
- Step 5: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Once heated, place the breaded Babybel cheese rounds in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray them with olive oil to help achieve a golden brown color.
- Step 6: Air fry the Babybel cheese for about 5-7 minutes or until they are crispy and golden. Serve immediately while they are warm and melty inside. Enjoy!
Notes
- For optimal freshness, store any leftover air-fried Babybel cheese in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days, but keep in mind they are best enjoyed immediately. If you need to reheat them, pop them back into the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 3-4 minutes to regain that crispy texture without losing their gooey center. These cheesy bites pair perfectly with a side of marinara sauce or a fresh salad for dipping, adding a delightful contrast to their rich flavor. For an extra flavor kick, consider adding your favorite herbs or spices to the breadcrumb mixture, such as Italian seasoning or crushed red pepper flakes, for a personalized touch.
